Cashmere is an investment in comfort and style, and maintaining its quality ensures that it remains as soft, beautiful, and functional as the day you bought it. By nurturing your cashmere, you preserve its natural fibers, keeping it looking and feeling fresh while protecting its long-lasting appeal. After all, the true beauty of cashmere lies not just in its luxurious feel, but in the enduring elegance it brings to your wardrobe when cared for properly.

What is Pilling?

The Pink & Ginger cashmere guide

With The Pink & Ginger Cashmere Guide, discover the best ways to clean and care for your cashmere. Follow these easy steps to restore the luxurious softness and delicate beauty of your pieces.

  1. Remove Pilling - Start by gently removing any pilling from the surface of your cashmere garment. While you can do this by hand, we recommend using a cashmere comb for a quick and effective result.

  2. Soak - Fill a basin with cold water and add a small amount of cashmere shampoo. Let your garment soak for no more than 30 minutes to preserve its delicate fibers.

  3. Gently Squeeze - After soaking, gently press out excess water—never wring your cashmere, as this can distort its shape. Instead, roll the garment up and press lightly to remove water.

  4. Rinse - Rinse the garment thoroughly in lukewarm water, ensuring that all the shampoo is completely washed out.

  5. Dry - Lay your cashmere flat on a towel in a cool, shaded area, away from direct sunlight or heat. Once it feels dry to the touch, remove it from the towel.

  6. Iron - To finish, gently press your cashmere with an iron set to a cool temperature, smoothing out any remaining wrinkles.
